As individuals we can choose what to buy but not what companies are pushing out and we have very little say in the design process, so no we can't decide how much touch sensitivity a company puts on their controller, just if we buy it or not.

Where in my post did i say we can choose "how much touch sensitivity a company puts on their controller" ? I didnt.

We can choose not to use those contollers.

Not all company are gonna choose to implement Touch Sensitivity so there will always be a choice. This is the whole point that you are missing and that everyone else is banging their heads against the wall about .

This ISNT a trend towards a final outcome. Its not Beta-Max and VHS or Blu-Ray and that other one.

Its Pepsi or Coke or loads of other pop (or soda as you guys say).

Its a flavour. Your not forced to drink it .

Look at the Kontrol X1 (lets get over the fact you dont like it). Its the newest controller on the block. It hasn't got touch sensitivity neither has the DX so the trend is still firmly in the Knobs and faders path.

I guess that makes me a younger inexperienced dj who wants to look cool and hip, because i think the SCS 3d and 3m are awesome little controllers personally - bigs up to the stanton crew for putting them out on the market. Personally i wouldnt use them as my only mixing device unless i wanted something super portable and virtually unbreakable - but i think they make awesome accessories next to my VCI-100 and midifighter. I do all sorts of things on them you just couldn't do with conventional buttons, knobs and faders.
