do you have zero mapping experience? If so you are much better of starting with a simple midi controller, like a Hercules RMX and map the whole thing out for simple 2 deck playback.

I say this because the midi mapping provided with the midi fighter are insane, if your not going to do any crazy modifier work then I guess you can do it, and any tutorial can help you with that.

I disagree, the RMX has about 4 times the amount of controls as a midifighter, and that mapping looks very basic as it only uses 1 modifier for the shift... just put the midifighter in 1 bank mode, you could even use the shift + cues 1 - 4 to change the deck focus and you still only need one modifier...

agreed with synthet1c. the midi fighter is probably an ideal and not too confusing controller to map first and that mapping doesn't look too complictated. the only instant grat stacked buttons are those 3 for the beatmasher, the rest should be fairly simple with just a few modifer conditionals.

i'd probably make shift+cue to delete a hot cue tho.

what u want to map it to? vdj i presume as u mentioned "coding" or to traktor?

should be pretty simple then and a good way to learn mapping in traktor. no "coding" in traktor - u just need to learn about modifiers to map multiple actions to the single buttons. make sure it's in one bank mode as synthet1c said.

Consider ordering a copy of the Traktor Bible online. Probably the best source of information on midi mapping in Traktor.
