    Default Traktor BLEND checkbox explained

    I've made the following graphs to help me understand what Traktor's Blend checkbox does, maybe you guys find them helpful too.

    First and foremost, the Blend checkbox is only available for Out mappings, under LED Options:

    And here are the graphs. CRmin = 0.5 and CRmax = 0.8 are just two arbitrary example values.

    The sent MIDI velocity value appears inconsistent at the boundaries of the Controller Range (that is, CRmin and CRmax). Drawing on our previous example above, here is a summary of what happens at the boundaries:

    Blend = OFF, Invert = OFF
    CR < 0.5 produces RED
    CR = 0.5 produces GREEN
    0.5 < CR < 0.8 produces GREEN
    CR = 0.8 produces GREEN
    CR > 0.8 produces RED (why is this not green??)

    Blend = ON, Invert = OFF
    CR < 0.5 produces RED
    CR = 0.5 produces RED
    0.5 < CR < 0.8 produces range of colors (useless on Launchpad)
    CR = 0.8 produces GREEN
    CR > 0.8 produces GREEN

    Now let's see what happens with the Invert box checked. The results are quite predictable: basically, where we had RED before we are going to get GREEN, and where we had GREEN we'll get RED. Therefore checking the Invert box is equivalent to swapping the values of MIDI Range Min and MIDI Range Max.

    Note: Personally I prefer to leave the Invert box un-checked and swap CRmin and CRmax.

    Blend = OFF, Invert = ON
    CR < 0.5 produces GREEN
    CR = 0.5 produces RED
    0.5 < CR < 0.8 produces RED
    CR = 0.8 produces RED
    CR > 0.8 produces GREEN(why is this not red??)

    Blend = ON, Invert = ON
    CR < 0.5 produces GREEN
    CR = 0.5 produces GREEN
    0.5 < CR < 0.8 produces range of colors (useless on Launchpad)
    CR = 0.8 produces RED
    CR > 0.8 produces RED
