Default What's the best program to find a song's key?

Hi all, so im learning how to do harmonic mixing and mixing in key. Right now im using mixed in key to analyze my tracks.

I know there's a few programs out there that do the same thing but im wondering which one is the most accurate?

The piano in your living room and your ear will be most accurate.

If not Mixed in Key is you best bet,
Theres a few free open source ones but they're not as good.

I'm getting more and more fond of a free application called Key Finder, by DJTT member ibsh.

You can find it on Source forge or searching through my own blog, http://journal.ome-les.com

I second this. If you've already gone the paid rout, might as well try the free one. It stacks up quite well actually. ibsh considers any recommended feature you have too.

Not sure if the M there stands for minor or major, but 7B on the Camelot wheel is F major. The key finding algorithms are different and never perfect so different programs won't always give you the same results.

The single fastest and most reliable way to find the key of a song:

I'm not kidding. It's damn near 100% accurate and takes maybe 1 minute per song if you're slow and use something buggy like iTunes to do your tagging.

Little 'm's mean minor. Major keys don't have a designation, eg. Fm vs. F.
