    Default Messed up meeting Deadmau5

    So here is a rant:

I saw Deadmau5 tonight in Nashville, TN. Awesome show. Great DJ. He's my hero and what made me want to start djing to begin with.

So afterwards my friend says he knows a guy who is going to hang out with Joel after the show. So Im psyched. I think I'm going to have coffee with my idol. Anyway, long story short my friends friend, says that he can only take one guy and I have to leave. Of curse I could have been pushier and probably been able to get 5 minutes. I am kicking myself now.

Have you guys ever messed up something so huge. It's as if a golf player messed up a meeting with Tiger Woods.

I am also kicking myself for not having a copy of my mix on hand.

Enough feeling sorry for myself. Make me feel better guys.

They say you should never meet your heroes, so perhaps it's for the best mate.

After having practically stalked Barbara Tucker round this island for the 4 years I'd been here, I finally met her last year, she came in the bar, and hung out in the booth for a bit. After all my musical knowledge deserted me through being starstruck, I was like "Oh my god, Babs Tucker in my DJ booth, at the same time as I put on her record!"
"No you idiot, this is Jocelyn Brown on Subliminal Records!"
    "Oh. Sorry Babs."
    "Don't call me Babs."

After that I put on another track with a male vocal:

"Don't worry, I know this one's not you singing." (I say with a wink of the eye, and my tongue in cheek, in case there's any mistaking the classic British sarcasm)
She waited a couple of seconds for the vocal to come in.
    "This is a man singing"
"Yeah I know... I was just sayi..."
"Are you saying I'm a man?!"

Needless to say, I don't think I'll ever be on her Christmas card list.

lmao Rufus, I reckon that would have been an ideal time to hit on her (as you kinda did). Nothing like taking the piss out of the opposite sex to get there attention ;P

Dude, she's old enough to be my mum!

Btw... Babs, if you're reading this, I'm clearly not helping my cause here, but hey, in for a penny, in for a pound

If Deadmau5 is the reason why you got into dj'ing in the first place, then I think you'll need to rethink your whole mantra.

He despises DJ's. Hell, if it wasn't for Ableton Live, he'd have no clue what to do with CD players, turntables, or even a VCI-100 + Traktor.

Be glad you didn't meet him. I think you're whole world would have come crashing down on you, unfortunately.

Now that is a person worth meeting.

Ive now got 'Beautiful People' blasting around the house.

"deep deep deep , deep down inside" woah perfect for this sunny day

Calling Deadmau5 a moron would be unfair to morons. (imho)
