Default DJ Sound Control computer mod

    Holy guacamole,

Chris Blarsky, an avid Traktor-user, built that AIO DJ Pc within 4 months. It comes at a size of 23 inch.

What do you say? yay or nay?

IMHO It looks dope but I change my gear like my underwear so I wouldn't like being tied to one piece of gear (although there are enough usb-ports for additional hardware). It is also too big. I see the future of DJing in integrated solutions).

I wondered if anybody would notice this on Engadget.
If you are in New York City tomorrow, it will be on display at a Lenovo event.

Once I get it back, I will produce a couple of Youtube vids showing it off.
Anyway, what do you guys think?

I just sent you a mail through your slow ass page.

    What did it cost alltogether?

Yeah, my server is getting the $h!t beat out of it right now.
I have not sat down to think about how much it cost.
I will get back to you soon with the figure.

What feature do you like the most/least?

    BREAKDOWN

    Lenovo A700 23" Multitouch AIO $1800.00
    Midifighter $120.00
    NI Audio Kontrol 1 $200.00
    Alesis Nanoverb (used) $75.00
    Arcade Buttons $90.00
    USB LCD $50.00
    M-Audio E-keys $100.00
    Aluminum, Sheet and angle $200.00
Lexan (polycarbonate) Panels and membrane $200.00
    Ink for screenprinting $75.00
    Meeblip Digital Synth $75.00
    I/O BOX (shell used) $35.00
    APC 1500VA UPS $200.00
2 extra batteries for UPS $40.00

TOTAL COST OF PARTS & MATERIALS $3260.00
(Lenovo took care of this cost.)

    Labor

    960 hours
For the sake of reasonable cost let's say I would
only charge $20.00 an hour, which realistically it
would be closer to double that.
Roughly at $20.00 an hour $19,200

    Total cost $22,460

I actually have it insured for $35,000 while Lenovo is using it.
Then they will ship it back.

Default Gear of the Future: Integrated Laptop + Controller

I can't remember exactly where, but I believe it was in the "DJing 15 years from now" thread that Photojojo commented about an integrated laptop and mixer.
Well, here it is! I just stumbled on this a few minutes ago. I'm not too convinced but thought I'd share it with you guys anyways:

It's pretty cool... the only problem is I don't feel particularly limited right now w/ a laptop and a small controller. Truth be told, I think they're all kind of big to be playing in small clubs. Can never make up my mind so I just take CDs and get drunk.

Pretty cool, not really what I have in my head, but it's a start.
