Unless you're "known" you'd be luck if anyone listens to more then 10-15 minutes of one. In terms of a promotoer or venue owner, I know for a fact the club I used to be a resident threw away all demo mixes that came in, without even listening or taking the CD out.

So you'd be lucky if most listened at all.
I mean it sucks, but it's just how it is.

This is simple - your technique is developing at a slower rate than your ability to recognise what is being done well.

You're learning what sounds good, and what sounds bad.

Just keep at it - keep doing what sounds good, and stop doing/work at what sounds bad.

    That's the learning process.

Mixing is a lot like farting. If you have to force it, its probably shit!

Probably a grain or two of wisdom in there. Definitely worth considering.

maybe because your forcing yourself to put a mix out once a week. Don't force it, let it come to you then put it down.

One thing i learned from youtube, is if you schedule your creative time it'll become work, and for me its really hard to be creative during work time... I rarely put out mixes, mostly because if your someone that wants to hear me, i want you to hear me live. I'm much better in front of people.

One other thing i learned is that if i do schedule creative time, make a party of it... invite some people, get some alcohol (if you so choose). Make it a social thing... distract yourself from the other stresses in your life and concentrate on your mix and your guests.
