How Long does it Take?

So I'm just curious, how long does it take to become a good DJ to the point where you can walk in a club/rave/festival/massive (you get the point) and be able to just bust out this amazing mix on the spot. And another question do DJ's make their set and practice before they go on stage or is it all on the spot improv? Thanks for your input

Wait, you're not already big tyme? Lots of years sometimes less, usually more. he more you practice the better you get. Some prep the whole thing some do it on the fly.

I do think that even prodigy DJs that supposedly sound great actually have practiced hours and hours.

I mix an improv mix just about every day - whether it be 20 minutes or an 2 hours, I try and do one, just to get around my music collection more and see how to transition between the songs I pick in about 8 seconds.
