I've cut and editted a track from a website, which was never released.
However I can't play it, because it sounds too slim. The quality and gain is OK, however bass etc. isn't fat enough.
You know good tools to improve it without much quality loss?

run it through audacity and tweak eq in there?
Izotope Ozone4 VST
Its comercial version but it is a great mastering tool. Lots of presets , pargraphic eq, stereo widening, volume opt ... etc great and non destructive. I love it!
