Separate subforums for DJ mixes and productions.

I thought the discussion in another thread would be more appropriate in this section. Sorry if this is seen as a semi-spammy maneuver.

I'd really like to hear some moderators' and other members' opinions on the matter.

My post from the other thread:

This would surely yield benefits to both producers and DJs, as well as their audiences.

+ Pro's:

Would enable people to search for a certain type or genre of content using the search function in their desired forum.
Would make browsing much easier. It's not always obvious whether a submission is a DJ set or a production.
Simpler to moderate: currently the rules (ie. length of mix) apply to some threads (ie. mixes) but not others (productions).
Podcasts or tracks would have a longer half-life near the top of the pile, gaining more views and comments/critique.
Gaining more views/comments could encourage more people to post their work.
It's logical: I seek and listen to mixes mostly for enjoyment, whereas I generally search for tracks in order to use them. I'm guess it's the same for many other people.

- Cons:

Would require considerable labor to implement the change. (I have no idea how much.)
Increased activity may require more moderator work.
May increase server load or other technical strain.
Question of how to deal with existing thousands of threads.
Are there any other cons?

Aside from reasons related to not having enough staff to carry out this change, would anyone actually *prefer* to have the two sections together?

IMO this change would significantly improve the environment for sharing and discussing musical works, and potentially increase the amount of networking and musical interaction on the forum.

Also not sure of the implementation , but I'm a fan of this idea.

Implementation isn't tough, I just don't know who it would have to go through for approval though. But I vote yes.

I would re type my reasoning, but I already did in the other thread listed in OP.

Great idea, I was getting tired of sorting through the thread just looking for originals. But just originals, remixes, bootlegs, and mashups for the subforum. Much rather want to listen to someones productions as oppose to DJ mixes.
