Glad to be on DJTT and looking forward to interacting with the crowd. Sharing with you all my current setup following a house move with recent purchases and additions to current kit(s):
What was removed:
- DJM800 mixer
- CDJ900 X2
- Viper 2500QX Mixer
- Pioneer DDJ-T1 (go to controller for fun and pool bashes). Best Traktor controller so far by Pioneer
Setup now:
- DJM900Nexus
- X2 XDJ1000s
- Ableton Push workstation
- Novation Mini pad
- Novation 2x4 audiohub
- Behringer 1000 analogue board
- NI F1 (used for sampling and sequencing drops and effects)
- NI X1 (used for sequencing and loop drops)
- NI Z1 (mixer on the go)
- Macbook Pro
- MacPro workstation - houses tracks, itunes, playlists, etc..
- Additional laptop for recording processing
- X2 Qnip 40TB NAS for storage
- X3 MacNAS storage
- X2 Intel workstation units for digital mastering
- Lan hub to connect across the network
Pretty much everything routes into the Behringer which controls as well the Qbit Speakers and the FBT monitor.
The DJM 900 mounts the laptop with Traktor X2 USB and the two XDJs X2 CDLines
FX and additional filters are routed Send/Recv into the DJM - though supporting only 1 channel for now
The NI controllers route through the Audiohub back into the Behringer
Currently have Ableton Push independent but planning to midi map into Traktor at some point for Mix mode. Need to toy with this a little
Still a fair bit of interconnection to do as I have the two RevitX1 guitar pads to connect for FX and also the MidiFighter. The above all is at 90% but still getting audio out issues when switching or blending channels (eg: 2 decks + 1 remix + XDJ and loop dropping via the F1).
For the road and flights, Im usually with the mac, Z1 and Novation Mini plus all the goodies loaded into a 1TB drive.
Software used: Traktor 2.8, Ableton Live, Logic X. Also a massive fan of the Novation App for Ipad. This is the bomb when on a flight and want to pass time of drop samples into sets
welcome your comments/help/ideas, etc..
