Default different encoder mode on Modifier controlled encoder (Effect selector/move grid)

I want to run Effect Selector (M1=0) an Move Grid Marker (M1=1) on the same encoder.
Effect selector runs in 7Fh/01h encoder mode
Move grid marker runs in 3Fh/41h encoder mode

When I put one of these controls in a particular encoder mode, it switches the encoder mode in the other control (essentially they both become 7Fh/01h or 3Fh/41h .... )
The different controls only work in different encoder modes, and cannot be in the same "mode" or else you get erratic behavior, it skips through multiple FX at once for example instead of going through the list.
When one encoder mode gets set it changes the mode on the other control mapping.
Can two controls on the same encoder not run in different encoder modes? Are they "linked"?

How can I get around this?
I considered doing one of these settings as a button(duplicated) one for Inc and other as Dec but it only works in one direction or the other.
Any suggestions? I think some form of "manual"/button control might be best, but I can't get this to work.

I've lost the mapping I used to use, and I forgot how I could get both of these things to work with a modifier on the same encoder.

Oddly enough I managed to get them both to work while they were both set on the same encoder mode 3Fh/41h but that only last a couple minutes and only on one side. Attached are pictures of how the different controls have to be set to work properly.

Traktor 2.5.1 (I cannot upgrade as I am still on Mac 10.6.8 and it's the last version for this Os)
Xone K:2 ( top encoder knobs midi channels Ch15.CC.000, Ch15.CC.003)

First time I hear about this issue with Traktor and K2... That sounds terrible!

Unless the problem is wirh the encoder actions in the controller, your 7Fh should move the grid. Did you try to increase the rotary acceleration on a 3Fh mode?

My MM-1 browse encoder shows correct in both modes.

That worked wonders! Thanks! So very much

    I put both in 7Fh/01h.
Effect Selector (M1-0) Encoder relative / 90% sensitivity (it changes with one click turn, you can increase the percentage for more clicks, 70% was 3 clicks or so)
Move Grid (M1-1) Encoder relative / 300% sensitivity

Nice man, I'm glad to hear!
Once it's finalized, feel free to upload at maps.djtt.com if you'd love to share the result to the community

    Best Regards,
