Add tree browsing to Ean's 1.6 Tsi!

Hey guys, here's a little something I came up with yesterday after seeing people asking for the ability to browse through trees inside Traktor Pro on the VCI-100 in the 1.6 feedback thread.

I know this might be really simple but it adds some great functionality to the tsi and sometimes the simple things get overlooked.

Basically, I noticed that the preview/deck copy button did nothing when in browse mode so I designed a setup that keeps Ean's original functionality but adds the ability to browse through the tree list and even subfolders.

In this setup, when the preview button is held while in browse mode, pressing up or down on the browse section moves up or down in the tree list, allowing you to between itunes and your track collection easily. Pressing right while holding the preview button opens the selected branch whereas left closes that branch if already open.

From there a single push of preview automatically selects the first track in the list and lets you scan through the selected folder as normal (via the up and down buttons). This however doesn't seem to want to work in iTunes, where it jumps to the bottom of the list so any help with that would be great!

To install this setup, just add the commands shown in the screenies below into your current midi mapping.You only need from 'Tree Select Up/Down' and below.

Hope you enjoy this small little add-on, it saves me from having to bring a mouse with me!

Oh and you have to select bottom in 'List Select...' or else it won't work as described!

Tried, this, but not fully getting the directions or screen shots. I'm on Firmware 1.3 and followed what you have, but absolutely nothing is happening.

I hold the preview button while clicking on the surrounding buttons while in Browse mode, and nothing happens.

Hmm I'm guessing thats because you are on 1.3 while I run 1.2. It could also be that you haven't set modifier 8=1, I forgot to do this when I first made it!

I'll stick another screenie up so you can see what i mean. Just check that the area I have underlined is the same on your setup.

If that still don't work I'm not sure why, just have to wait for someone else to try it out and see!

also I have a problem with the "full browser" top button of COPY DECK.
Opens the browser fulls screen, but cannot close it without loading a tune.
Sometimes we do not always load tune.

Sorry I don't fully understand the problem you described, got an example of it?

I will code it and try it...

My problem I have is in 1.6

I press the top button (UP button) and it opens the full screen browser.
I cannot find anyway to close up the browser without loading a track.
Not always do I load a track. Maybe I am missing something?

By the way I just made a quick change to the setup, forgot about the duplicate deck controls and i only tested it with songs in the right deck! Now you just press preview to jump to top of list.

To avoid that problem I just make sure that 'Load only into stopped deck' is switched on. Then to escape full view, just try load into an already playing deck. Works a charm

now to close the browser view without loading a tune..??
