Default Closing out a show after a huge headliner plays. Tips?

Never done this before. Due to scheduling stuff, I may very well be closing out a night at an outdoor festival after a very big DNB headliner is finished a 2 hour set. We'll be playing a side stage at a festival with alot of rock bands, so i'm expecting a 50/50 crowd of ppl who know what's up and total n00bs to electronic music. Any tips from anybody who has been in a similar situation? I don't want to even attempt to steal this guy's thunder, but at the same time I would like to ride whatever energy he's left over for me to work with. I normally spin dubstep/breaks/dnb/jungle but will most likely stray from playing dnb. It's also going to be a silent disco. Anybody have any good/bad experiences with that either? Any advice is much appreciated!

Just have fun man. But i would stick to what you know, it's always hard enough straying from familiar styles, let alone doing it in front of a big crowd.
And it's a silent disco??? I didn't think these things really happend. I've always wondered, what about the monitors? Do you just do all of the mixing in your headphones?

If you got the slot after a huge headliner, rock the fuck out. I've closed out several times for many, and I my best advice to you is do your thing and have fun. You got booked for a reason. This is also a great opportunity to show the crowd what you have. The crowd will be full of people there who are dnb heads, and representing yourself and your crews is going to be looked upon with the utmost respect. No matter what you do, however, don't play too many of the same tracks he plays. Since it's a major headliner, chances are their set will be full of dubs so you won't have this problem unless you are getting the same dubs.

My interest is piqued tho. Who is this headliner you're closing for?

Silent discos are popular at music festivals as they allow dancing to continue past noise curfews. Similar events are "mobile clubbing" gatherings, where a group of people dance to the music on their personal music players.

No shit. Hell yeah man. I've met Dara a few times over the years, and he's always been really cool. Even though he's never remembered me. Hopefully you can make a lasting impression.
