throw in a HID-MIDI bridge software and I guess you have a nice foot switch, so that you dont have to keep pressing that shift button on your vci-100. plus maybe one switch for juggle and another one for fader fx mode?

How would you get it to work with your VCI without universal modifiers?

You can use a translator to conver the key presses to MIDI
