I use a novation remote SL compact 49, not the cheapest, but just found it on DV247.com for £169.99, which is a bargain! I use it with Logic and its brilliant, if Novations are a bit out of your price range try m-audio's oxygen range - depending on budget and number of keys you require
Current Top 3:
1. Loco Dice - Seeing through Shadows
2. Light Year - Sex Education
3. Simian Mobile Disco - Cruel Intentions (DJ Pierre Remix)
ye looked that up on htfr and there looking at 219.The price u mentioned is the kinda price rang im looking at.Is that controller user freindley for reason 3?????
Novation do quite a few different products so check out their site, see what suits your needs.
They also have the benefit of a program called automap which basically sets up your midi controller for you. I assume it works with version 3, but you may have to do a little digging to find that out, they have specified reason as compatible, but not stated which versions

cool will check that out.WHAT about the korg microkontrol or microkorg?
the microkorg is a hardware synth... the micro kontrol does control software, but might be a little expensive f you just want a midi controller.
so its looking like the novation then as there not much more worth talking about???
There are many basic controllers out there.. 25 49 or more keys if required.
The reason integration of the Novation Remote Series is awesome. It works straight out of the box with a very thoughful layout.
Mate, just get a cheapo 2nd hand midi keyboard with maybe a few dials, a pitch bend and maybe a mod wheel. If you're new to production you wont need more then that. you can pick sumink up for like $100 if that. Most people start with a PC and a mouse.
