Program That Detects Genre

Does anyone know of a program that detects genre for mac? key would be nice to (btw, trainspotter is confusing)

there are a few programs that can detect the BPM/Key(MixenInKey). i really doubt genre.

I got that program, but it shuts down after it's overloaded with too many shitty Beatport samples.

There has actually been some research on this problem. See for example this paper (PDF link):

But unfortunately:
1) I'm not aware of any publicly available software.
2) The results you get from something like this will probably be error prone (that paper reported accuracy of around 70%)
3) It will probably only work reliably for relatively broad genre definitions (i.e. distinguishing between rock and classical as opposed to house and trance).

So, short answer, no

I highly highly doubt that, well maybe one day when computers are waaaaaay more faster and has waaaaaaaaay more intelligent code !

I think its in the realms of possibility, but not with todays technology.

Plus honest to god, anyone who has ever uploaded a track to any music forum and put the genre in the topic has been quickly corrected with a "I dunno dude I wouldn't call that hard house..."

I mean most broad genres can be detected via bpm. House=126, Dubstep=140, Drum & Bass = 174. Etc... Genre has never been my problem.
