I have had nothing but greatness from my M-audio Firewire 410 and would recommend them to anyone. Never used the audiophile, but all the reviews I've read are similar to the good experience I've had with the FW 410.

The M-audio Firewire soundcards make a point of reminding you that they are not hot-swappable, and can cause permanent damage if you happen to remove the plugs after you are using your soundcard. But in reality, why would you want to hotswap a soundcard that you were running audio through anyway? Just an FYI difference in Firewire versus USB interfaces.

I own one for some years now and it works well, might not be as loud as the NI ones but is ok, haven't had any problems with it.

"good" is relative. It depends on your budget, your ears, your needs, and your expectations.

    How much is cheap?
What do you want to use it for?
