External mixer with filters on every deck?

Looking for a 4 deck external mixer and I really want filters on every channel, sence I use them quite a bit when "lifting" highs and cutting lows over tracks when mixing. How come more mixers dont have filters on every channel???

If there is no mixer within price range, why not just use the ordinary EQ's?

Cost mate, thats why not many mixers have it on every channel. The Pioneer DJM 800 does.
Why not use 4 internal filters assigned to a midi controller for each deck? Pick up a nanokontrol or something purely for 4 filters, you'll even have some knobs left for other FX

hummm. I have an Akai LPD8 and I can probally use it as a preset for filters on all decks but I dont like switching between presets that much, I like the way its set up now....im actually looking for something on the cheaper range. I own a VCI 100 SE/midifighter as well. I can't decide on a good 4 channel mixer to suite my needs. I was looking at the DDM 4000, but seems like there is too many functions I dont need and I probally wouldnt be happy with the sound card and have to buy a audio 8 dj. I don't know... I was in this situation for months...Maybe im asking for two much in a small price range but im sure it can be done...

With a little midi knowledge you could remap some lesser used knobs on any midi capable mixer (such as the ddm 4000) to use as filters. I wouldn't base my mixer choice on 4 knobs (or lack thereof) tho, personally.

again from the other thread it is potentally misleading to use the term soundcard when referring to the DDM4k or any traditional mixer. a mixer like the korg zero 8 is a mixer with a soundcard. A mixer like the DDM4k has no soundcard.

if you read the thread about you'll see that the ddm4k does pretty well audibly compared to other mixers of the same price range.

it also draws conclusions based on testing on how hard you should drive the inputs and outputs for the best sound and that the mixer will sound bad if you overdrive either, which makes sense causes its digital.

What do you mean you don't like switching between presets? If that's the case get 4 knobs assigned with 4 filters set up exactly how you want them, why stop at the presets? I have 4 knobs set up for FX and they never change, I literally have them labelled "filter", "beat masher", "flanger" etc on the midi controller itself as I know Im never going to change them. That's just how I work, I don't need shit loads of FX. But it seems like for the sake of buying a new mixer, getting used to having 4 individual filters on that mixer, then turning up at a club and not having any FX at all let alone 4 separate ones due to them having a different mixer, then being fucked for FX, you might as well program your LPD8 to have 4 filters you love and can take everywhere you go and you know how to use inside out.
Are you really planning on carrying your mixer with you to every gig and going to all the trouble of swapping it over for the sake of having 4 separate filters when all you gotta do is get your LPD8 on the go?!

that's why is hard for me to choose DDM4K...
It's not a club stardard and it's not portable either...
If you are planning to do external mixing what are you mixing or what you are planing to mix with your VCI-100 SE EQ Knobs?
You could use them as your filters and leave your standard external EQ on the mixer

No basically I plan on using the club mixer if its fit to use. I just want to get a better flow with 4 deck mixing, soooo practising at home on a 4 deck mixer would be ideal. I also do private parties from time to time in halls and stuff. So basically I want to get used to mixing 4 decks so I can really work it on the mixer at the club or other types of events.

Im just frustrated I like having my EQ's and filters all in front of me as they should be, I dont want a setup with bits and pieces of this here and that there type thing.
