    Talking Help Finding Certain Sound!!

Hey guys, I've been a fan of this website for about a year now but just joined the forum..so this will be my first post!

Alright, I have gathered many VST's over the years for my search of a certain sound in which I would like to produce my music with but, I just can't seem to find it. Some examples of artist who use the type of sound I'm looking for are Le Castle Vania, MSTRKRFT, The Bloody Beetroots, Toxic Avenger and Boys Noize...you know just that really dry, saturated lead that almost sounds like a synthasized guitar!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vN20Dj_xO4 This is Le Castle Vania's Zero Machine
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEfKB...om=PL&index=22 MSTRKRFT's Easy Love

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj0nL5-nm6Q and finally Toxic Avenger's Bad Girls Need Love Too

I've been SOL on tryin to find anything near this type of sound...Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks guys!

The castle vania's sounds like a guitar to me, not a synth.

Mstrkrft is a synth. To get that sound I'd use Massive from NI, because it has some dirty filters, or any other synth that can make a guitar like sound, and then add a heavy distortion which is what makes it sound like a guitar. Then maybe add some flanger, or phaser to make more interesting.

Toxic avengers sound is a synth too. Same recipe as before. Dirty filter, and/or distorion. Again Massive is perfect for that kind of sounds.

Also a good compression will help you to achieve that compact sound.

Something along the lines of this?

You can definitely get this sound in massive. Filtering is important, but I think a lot of the sound is in the delay between note changes. The lead synth kind of ramps up between notes.

Massive is a bit costly, and I'm sure you can get this sound with other synths as well. I just happen to really like it cause its so in depth (read: lots of parameter, can be tricky at first).

But yeah, this is quite a common electro sound. Heres an example of a bit more electroey sound, its called a hoover.
