    Default Volume Peak Meters

    Hey guys

Had a house party a week ago and a hell of a time.
the only thing that bothered me is the volume levels.
i thin u agree that traktors volume peak meters are way to small and
    almost unusable.
then i had an idea to use the recorders peak meters for leveling.
its way better, it feels way better to use that than the peaks on the small
    meters on the top.
just wanted to share that with you.
yes u dont see the FX on the deck B but thats the way it is.
maybe u can live with that.
i think its more important that the volume stays the same than to see the FX settings at the whole time.

    enjoy

    greetings

Yeah this is a great tip.

My friend has the Recorder meter on permanently .

I agree that the Master Meter is not informative enough at all especially if you keep Traktors Master volume low.

Ive been looking for an on screen Volume meter for ages. ive seen a PC one but not a Mac.

Richie Hawtin has one but i guess Minus made it for him.

    Good thought...

personally I leave the autogain on, set master out down a few notches so the limiter doesn't kick in, and route main out to ch 1 and monitor out to ch 2 on my mixer. I do all my mixing internally with my vci-100, but then run everything out through my dns-300 so I can keep an eye on my levels

Also when mixing externally, should you just concentrate on the volume levels on your mixer rather than internally in the software?

Ooh ill have to check my web History on my Mac at my g/fs house for that later.

I might have got it wrong but there was like a page of different Meters, old VU style with the needle to LED style horizontal or vertical.

Will post up when i find the page.

i think i was searching Google on "on screen VU meter"

got one of the LEDs (the top left one) of my vci mapped to the overload of the recorder, so i always have an eye on the levels, no matter how far the master is going. helps to keep the level of you mix smooth...

    Default building VU meters

Is there a possibility to build such meters with plugs on them
something like a box with leds in it with audio in and audio out kinda thing
that cant be so complicated to build but it would be worth gold
there are components that u can find on the internet.
maybe we should make such a project or something
there are guys that 4 sure know how to do this
maybe even a new DJTT product
