Anyone know of any good sources of a capellas? I'd like to remix some pop tracks over my deep house.

A Capella (Acapella) & Instrumental - How to Extract

Got a lot of this information from here http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2722

    - Acapella Download Sites
    http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/
    http://www.soundarea.org/
    http://www.jamglue.com/
    http://www.worksessions.com/

    - Search Google, torrent, or download sites for a capella or acapella
    http://thepiratebay.org/
    http://www.mininova.org/
    http://rapidlibrary.com/
    http://forum.audionews.ru/ (Registration currently closed)
    http://torrentz.com/ (Torrent aggregate website)

    - Compilations on CD and Vinyl that leave just the vocal tracks

    - Using a 5.1 Track CD/DVD
The center channel on a 5.1 CD/DVD usually almost always carries a perfect acapella
    Extract using http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD_Audio_Extractor

    - Audio Invert (For acapella and instrumental)
    Use Ableton or another DAW
This audio invert basically works though the cancellation effect created by mixing a inverted version of a track with an original version of the track. Anything that is identicle in the track will be subtracted from the output leaving only differences in the track, in this case thats the vocals. As long as the two versions of the track are perfectly identicle (bit for bit) to one another with the only difference being the material that you want to isolate then this method works flawlessly.

    - Filtering Methods (Should be your lost option if all else has failed)

    ^ thnx!

I would also look the legal route and just ask the artist of see if you can get the acapella you are looking for.

Good point! Never thought about just asking the artist for the acapella, thanks.

Nice! I've been searching for torrents, most are just crap. I had my other DJ friend give me something like 2 gigs worth of a capellas, half of which were old old songs, some new, mostly great quality- but I reformated my HD and lost them

Maybe I'll see if I can get a hold of him again...

As far as contacting the artist... I wonder how I'd get ahold of Lady Gaga

    Thanks for the links!

you should probably take those links off.

one of those has a virus/spyware.

(i just opened them (links) all up in a new tab, and then, all my browsers are messed)

until, I just killed a process saying "Relevant Knowledge"

    thank you for your time.

I've been using these sites for a decent span of time of time now. I have a few small complaints but nothing major, mainly positive. I've certainly never encountered any malaware or spyware on these sites. If you were using IE and installed an Active X driver then that's your fault not mine.

    Some extra information for you.

A good way to stay safe on the internet is to download Google Chrome and install AdBlock extension.

Remember when artst's singles came with the instrumental and A Capella on one side of their single for DJ's? What The hell happened to that? So now that everything is digital, DJ's don't need them anymore?!
