I swear I live in a bubble sometimes. I'm not a big fan of hip-hop generally, but I'm liking this stuff a lot.

this is actually what turned me off to uk hip hop a while back. it was like "dude, these guys have no rhythm at all" but i don't know whether they were just shit tracks i was listening to or the fact that it's a totally different style of flow the guys have. either way, i'm getting more and more into grime each day

I do agree with you that there is some rubbish stuff out there but thats the same with any genre, the minute something takes off the scene gets washed with absolute shit that gets bundled up as it has a similar "sound".
I have listened to a lot now and there are alot of really good artists out there that are releasing some really good stuff.
I don't dj grime/ uk hip hop (as in on its own) but i love using it in sets as it fits with most stuff. You can find stuff to go with d&b, dub step, house etc etc which is why i love it, gives the proper grimey edge.

Wouldn't doing the scene justice if I didn't post IMHO the best uk hip hop song ever (so far!!) in a grime thread, got me into the scene without a shadow of a doubt, getting on a bit now but still love it so much......witness the fitness!!
