Default Songs that changed EDM (for you)

Everyone has those songs that completely changed how they think about everything. I personally have a huge array of songs that all mean something different to me, and have influenced not only my taste in music, but the music that I make.

As terrible as it is to admit this, when it came out when I was 10 or 11, Eiffel 65's "Blue" helped me not only figure out that I enjoyed electronic/dance music, and there's no shame in admitting that I still listen to the song.

It wasn't until about 6 years later, though, that I really got into EDM. And that defining moment is best marked by Cosmic Gate's "Exploration of Space."

the song that *really* hit home for me. I had listened to electronic music for about 2-3 years already, but this one totally got me.

How about the first time you heard the lyric "The Brothers' Gonna Work It Out..." or "Everything Everything Everything Everything... "

the one tune that converted me to the side of love & light was "Dark & Long - Dark Train " by Underworld. My first tentative steps into the underworld back in the day. Or "Earth - Gaia" by the Orb.

    +1.

I was 12/13 when these came out. I started carrying around cardboard and a boom box soon after.

This one introduced my ears to the drum machine.

This one made me realize it didn't have to have lyrics.
