    Default Vestax Knobs Removal

You guys have any tips/experience on removing the knobs/faders on a Vestax midi controller?

I have a Vestax VCM-100 but it should be rather similar to the VCI-100. I have tried tugging on them carefully but they don't seem to budge. I don't want to damage the controller.

    Thanks.

I just get a thin but strong piece of string, tie a not (so its a circle), put it under one side of the knob, then twist it, and do the same for the other, sort of like a figure of 8 so the string is on both sides of the knob then just pull up on the string and pull the knob off...

I do hope that made sense!

So long as you pull with a steady force and STRAIGHT up! You could break the post if you get side load on there.

This is how I did mine on the VCI and Oxygen 25, too.

i found the faders are the ones to be most careful with though, they can bend even easier

    LOL ! Thanks guys.
I just pulled off the Big Main Level Knobs and they had yellowish sticky stuff holding them on. Thank god it wasn't glue.

    How do I know whether it's a 1/4" shaft or a 1/8" shaft ?

It looks like a 1/4" to me.

    Thanks again.
