I use Ableton Live along with a UC-33e, a DR-202 (used as a midi controler for navigation, and triggering of 1 hit samples), and sometimes a DM2 (AWESOME controller for the money - I got mine for £15 on ebay!). I'm pretty active over at ALDJ.com and Ableton.com - so if you have any Ableton Live related questions, hit me up!

My old DJ pseudonym was Dexter, but currently I use my real name Alex Hess or Alexander Hess more often. That's because there is a TV series named "Dexter" and some other DJ's with the same name - So I changed it, cause I always want to be unique (also my musical style and all that jazz should be unique)

So when I post a live set on the internet, i use "Alex Hess aka Dexter" meanwhile.

I'm from a mid-sized city in Austria, called Gmunden.

Everybody knows, that it's hard nowadays, to exactly define the style of a song. So in my Library, I created some style-specifications which helps me to distinguish

Electro
- Dark Electro (Olivier Giacomotto, Damon Jee)
- Minimal Electro (Mr. Oizo, Format:B)

Electrotrash
- Electroclash (Don Rimini, Crookers)
- Electrofunk (Malente, Lars Moston, Hervé, Sinden)
- Nu-Indie (Justice, Digitalism, Lektroluv)

Underground Electro
- Industrial Electro (Nachtmahr, Xotox, Noisuf-X)

Mostly I play a mix between Electrofunk and Electroclash (These are the biggest Folders in my Library). It usually depends on my mood. When I'm angry or hyperactive, I spin Industrial (EBM) - when I'm sad, I spin Minimal.

Hi all, season's greetings. I've just registered, though have been a lurker for a while. Absolutely love the website and the forum -- much respect to Ean and all the members that make it so special.

I am of two extremes -- high end audiophile sound but also digital too, as it offers so much flexibility. Don't really have a DJ name, I suppose Tan is what I use (though have the odd moniker). Play a lot of Disco, more than anything else but anything you can dance to really! And I'm from the UK.
