Hello fellow DJs! I should probably start with the template from the beginning...

DJ name: Yoa
Real name: Devin, or Yoa, depending on who you talk to.
Where I am from: Exeter, NH, USA.
Style of music I enjoy playing: if it's got a heavy beat and decent low end, I'll spin it.

However, as I'm sure we all do, I go beyond that. I started DJing on a Numark Total Control, which has since been heavily modified into a crazy custom controller. Now, I am a turntablist (vinyl DJ). I'm kind of a hybrid DJ in that my normal setup includes 3 turntables, a mixer, a laptop running Ableton live (for samples) and Traktor (for DVS/controllerism), two Korg nanoPADs for samplers, and a few other devices, depending on what I feel like. But, my turntables get the most use, despite everything. I find myself DJing almost anywhere, from alleys to nightclubs, and even at house parties or (years ago) school.

I started out in in the late 80's and continued to DJ trough out the 90's. I did my (last) club gig in may '04. But in recent I've rediscovered my interest and entered the digital age, and got my self a cheep midi controller, I became a bedroom DJ..

"Shroo" is my current DJ name. Its a shortening of my usual psuedonym, "Mushrooshi", but there was already a DJ in the scene named "Mush" so I opted for "Shroo" instead
