Old noob here
Well I guess I should start off with this is just a trail to see if I can do it. I'm in my 40's and come from the days of the warehouse parties. Back in the good old days when it was underground. So I decided to purchase a pioneer ddj sx2, since I was able to afford it. No real skills in djing, but I like the music and have always wanted to make my own,(so I guess this is where I either get flamed or encourage). I've always liked the sounds of Josh Wink, Rob Payne, Nigel Richards, and a lot of the other acid sounding music. Anyone have any advice of what I should be looking for and a good starting point. I can beat match and melody match, but need to learn the rest. I'm probably to old to be doing this now, but hey I only live once. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Newbie
1. DJ GreenVirus / Minty Dacquoise
2. Los Angeles, CA
3. I play anything anything from Uplifting Trance, UK-Hardcore, to Drum & Bass, Speedcore, Dubstep, Makina, Gabber and Progressive House. My favorite style to mix is UK-Hardcore and Makina in the 180-210 BPM range. I am here to look for tips on music production and to see what others are doing when DJ'ing as I've pretty much taught myself everything I know up to this point. I primarily focus on the Japanese independent music scene, which includes Touhou arrangements, Vocaloid songs, Anime song remixes, and original music. I mainly use motion graphics to promote music and my mixes on Youtube, but I also do live events.
