    Default Looking for a soundcard...

    hello,
i've ordered a VCI-100 SE and i'm now playing with Traktor (before I used VDJ), but i think i need a soundcard...
because i'm a beginner, i do not want a verry expensive soundcard, but I also want - if i get better in 1 or 2 years - that I don't need to change my soundcard...
I have a max price range of 200 euro... and this is what i want:

    - near zero latency
    - good audio quality
    - a headphone output with volume controller

can anyone help me with suggestions??

    thanks a lot!

From my experience, don't be too cheap on a soundcard. I originally bought an external Creative 24-bit soundblaster which was good for improving laptop audio quality, but terrible for use with DJ'ing. I did a bit of reading and found you could use ASIO4ALL drivers with this soundcard which worked initially but then just led to crash after crash of Traktor (not good at my first gig!).

Therefore I sold this and opted for something designed exactly for DJ'ing - the Numark DJIO (£75ish). People may laugh at Numark but this has decent ASIO drivers, works perfectly with Traktor and is pretty hardwearing! It doesn't have headphone vol. control (it does have mic volume tho!) but this doesn't matter as Traktor will let you regulate this!

    Hope this helps.

I also hear good things of M-Audio! Anyone who has experience with that?

I was looking for a Edirol UA 25... is that a good soundcard? or a bit too good?
