ok, not much of a 'hardware man' and sometimes the insides of things confuse me.
playing around with trying to get better cooling on my laptop, woul;d i be right in thinking that the bright orange thing leading down the centre of this pic, into the fan is my laptops heatsink (sp?)
if so what are the problems, if any, of making a couple of new holes in the casing inline with it so my fan/stand/thing (pictured below) can actually cool it? as you can see, right now it is in line, but blowing on the casing itself
if i flip it the other way it pulls air away, rather than push it in, so would i be better off also flipping it over so it pulls air through the holes off off the orange bit and help cool the laptop better?
i know it's not the best stand out there but it was cheap and generally does a good job, but living 3 floors up and catching everyone elses heat in my flat is starting to push it a bit more than it can take, also i haven't seen many fan stands that line up with my vents anyway *shrug*
