do we know for sure they don't have both? I've only seen photos of the tops of the units. Though it would make sense if they didn't, I'm just hoping there's a chance they do....

    True, let me summarize:

reasons to believe the new series have a MIDI port:
    - there is no image proving otherwise
    - huge focus on USB port (two sided)

reasons to believe the new series DON'T have a MIDI port:
    - there is no mention of any (not even in the manual). This was explicitly mentioned for the older product lines.
    - there is no mention of a power supply which would be mandatory for mentioned port.
    - huge focus on the USB port (two sided)

With the last argument of both sides I mean that the focus on USB could mean that the MIDI port is there, but Faderfox doesn't want all the attention on it. Or that it isn't there but they're trying to say USB is better anyway.

Well, either way these controllers look pretty cool, small and definitely versatile & usable.

Yes we do. Mathias told me personally that the units no longer have Midi Ports or Battery power.

I think its a shame because daisy-chaining 2 Foxes was a really cool thing.

They all look really good but the only thing that I worry about is the DX3 as they seem to have put the buttons inbetween the knobs and that looks to cause potential issues with trying to hit them wouldn't you say?

If I read the sites correctly, I would think you would be able to daisy chain through USB?

I'm thinking of selling my DJ2 tbh....I don't like the EQs in traktor and the only way around that is to go external.

I own a DX2 and a DJ1, with a few mods to the standard mappings, especially for easier tree and playlist browsing. Luv em. I gotta say I really like the midi chaining and actually prefer that to usb, but that's probably because I only have 2 USBs on the macbook.
Still, I am considering upgading from the DJ1, because it's layout isn't ideal for me.
I'll keep the DX2 despite the obvious layout improvements, but the DJ1 will have to go sooner or later. Still not sure if it's going to be replaced by a used DX2 or a new DX3.
