It's a cool mixer, but I'm sure those functions can be performed within Ableton via routing in some form or another. Seems like a $2,000 version of this thing

I like that touch-screen cross-fading thing. That looks like the most usable feature out of the whole deal.

Yet it also looks like an 800 with an iphone running TouchOSC embedded in it.

Yeah, there's that, too. If you use an effector, 4 channels, and Live -- this is probably a great deal. Probably less cost than all 3 controllers, and way less real estate. Then again, some of the best DJ sets I've ever heard were with 2 vinyl turntables & analogue mixer, so... to each their own.

yeah it's expensive, but for what it does it's worth imho. and that's the first pioneer product since efx500 i've said that about.

also, now trying to work out how to get some of that 'frequency side chain 7 way x-fade' action going in traktor....
guessing it would be doable in ableton using max though... bento?

First thing I thought of... ehh, bento... what's your take?

Frequency assignable FX and a 7 frequency x-fader with ableton?

yeah, i'd love to see the frequency thing start to get integrated into software. looks quite usefull, although, in practice, I feel that minimal is going to be one of the few genres that can really take advantage of it.

erm... i disagree. in essence it's just a fancy eq, which is used in all genres. think mash-up and it's usable across everything.

I mean, I agree, in theory its definitly usefull, however, in practice, I bet it wont perform as well as you might think when you actually apply it to a genre thats NOT minimal (like was demoed)
