TBO, swing house is not really my cup of tea. Something about searing 303 bass lines with 1920's sounding horn samples that doesn't sit well with me. It's definitely a cool new genre though!

I was pretty sceptical when I read that but that first track was pretty sick. Interesting genre to dedicate yourself to, sounds more to me like a one off a producer would go and make.

That second track reminded me of the song at the end of the 'eels' episode of the mighty boosh. anyone? haha

This from Mr Scruff from 1999 knocks the tits of any of this new stuff.

Mr Scruff is a legend up North (UK). I Djd with him once, it was an honour.

What a great start to buying records... thats awesome.

Im glad it brings back good memories mate. It does for me to.
I remmeber the first nite i played that track, i got a promo of the album of my mate who is a mate of Scruffs (which is how i got to play with him). If i can dig the flyer out ill post it.

Ive been to his "Keep It Unreal" nite countless times (really i cant count) and he is the most amazing DJ. He does the whole 5hours on his own with 3 decks and i have never ever heard him drop a beat, even when hes mixing live funk and jazz records. Hes astonishing.

I can only imagine. I'm a big fan of a lot of his work. Ninjatune in general is killer. Really neat stuff on there.

I'm on the south east of canada, so I'll never get to see him as long as I'm here, but I imagine his sets would be fairly interesting, esp. on vinyl.

I like swing and I like house so swing house is just the best of both!!

    Check this mix out

Mr Scruff has a SoundCloud page with among other things some pretty long DJ sets. One of them being almost seven hours long WITH a track listing!

    http://soundcloud.com/mr-scruff

And the Solid Steel Radio Show on the Ninja Tune page usually has some good tracks in it. It's always a good eclectic mix of stuff.

And shameless self promotion here. I opened one of my first mixes since getting back in the game with some Parov Stelar.

These have more jazz samples than big bands but if you like swing house, you'll like this stuff!
