Ableton akai version not reading mp3's ?

My ableton akia version wont read my mp3's but the same mp3s work in traktor le.


Any ideas ?

Also mp3s works fine in live 8.1.3 demo.

What release is the Akai version derived from? IIRC with live 6 I couldn't read mp3s that had gone through Traktor Pro, something to do with the tags. The fix was to install Quicktime (windows here, so not there by default).
I think that's been fixed on the following major release (so, from 7 on).

The Akai version is technically "Live Lite" which does not support MP3's. The demo version, however, is the demo version of the FULL Live and does support MP3's.

Thanks for the replies, glad it was nothing to do with traktor, i now found out the akai version only supports wav files, didnt even think to ask when buying, assumed all ableton supported mp3's.


So now its either upgrade or buy an external drive for the wavs init ?!! wouldnt mind an external drive anyway but cant really afford to buy wav files so fook knows.. Demo's cool for now, while im mucking around with the apc40 i guess, just wish i could spend this extra money on tunes !!
