Traktor? - Have a 'Panic button'. Macro all of your fx off and filter off commands to something like CTRL-SHIFT-Z, so if you get mighty flustered just hit that.

Something I should have learned the first time it happened, not the 20th,

CHECK TO SEE IF YOU ARE IN SCRATCH MODE!

Few other minor things, don't forget to manually reset all of your EQ n stuff on your controller (lest you try to reset them after a track is playing), and always ALWAYS manually reset the pitch fader.

Uh, oh and mind the auto sync on the loops with a VCI 100 SE.

today, I learned that making out while beatmatching after six shots of tequila is probably one of the best things ever. it got a little old after an hour though.
