    Default I'm getting a mac.

blah blah I like windows too (actually love win 7 and xp), but find me something with an aluminium case, glass screen. 8 hour battery life, and runs logic for less and I'll buy it.

Question is, 13 or 15.... are core 2 duos outdated on the 13" and now i think about it, is it worth getting the anti glare screen.

Anyone got any 'essential apps' for mac you think i should give a try?

    Cheers.

Its all about form factor in the choice between 13" vs 15"

If you don't mind the added bulk and weight then of course the 15" is a much better deal, the core i5's are a lot faster than core 2 duos.

I saved myself the cash from buying a 15" and bought a 13", and slapped a solid state drive in it with the differential I saved. Rocks the shit out of my friends 15" Core i5.

As far as apps, I use Onyx for maintenance.

In terms of mixing, i use a 4 year old lenovo R60 with a CELERON M 1.6 ghz processor and 3 giggs of old ram, runs traktor pro fine

so im assuming a 13 inch mbp with a core 2 will be more than fine

in terms of production, i do not know

    RJ, don't worry.

    Got a 2.66Ghz c2d CPU, 4Gb RAM, 320Gb Hdd, 15.4" MBP and it's all good!

I used to run Traktor on this. Became too much of a bitch to lug around to gigs.

I agree that a SSD drive is one of the best performance upgrades you can get a laptop nowadays but he wants to run Logic, so I think CPU power is more important than transfer speed and IOPS.

If he was running traktor then you could prob run it on a netbook.
