I do it all the time, is sounds normal like a technics, then again i did it over 100 times on a technics.......it's very similar on a vci.
MBP i7. Denon MC4000. Traktor Scratch A6. DDJ SX Serato DJ.
Maybe try to go slower and use less force to get a shorter spin? Just a flick on the VCI would be equal to a much larger movement on the TT's.
What is your Scratch "Rotary Sensitivity" setting in Controller Manager.
I dont use a DJTTs tsi so i cant see what it might be.
You need to set your keylock to 'Scratch', otherwise the pitch won't change when you slow down or speed up the record beyond your pitch fader range
