    Default Wave form quekkie

Hey so why do some of my wave forms look really small with minimal peaks even in a song that has a lot of variance in volume etc..

As i expect some would say to zoom, here is a zoomed one

As you can see, not much going on there in terms of peaks on beats etc. You can obviously still see the breaks and stuff but not as clearly as usual.

    Thoughts would be lovely

Sorry, it's the same track, just the second picture is zoomed in.

What I mean is why is it so small compared to other tracks that have a normal wave form such as

could be the gains are different

is the one with the small waveform auto-gained (if u use that feature) to a level much higher than ur common track?

What I'm saying is that the track has similar frequencies that don't vary much during the song. That would make the wave form look like that. I'm just making and educated guess though.

Check the autogain. It will be very high.

Yeah that makes sense. Auto gain was at 6.9! Probably time to replace the track I guess.

Right click on the track and select edit. There is a small box on the right side that shows the autogain level. You can change this to whatever you want if you think traktor does a shit job of setting this (which it usually does) ... or run your collection through mp3gain (free btw) set a nice high level like 96db and then you can turn autogain off.
