That was my first thought. I'm guessing there's some way to push the waves out without the sound. Would kind of suck if you couldn't feel the bass.

Not sure how valid this is as a tip, but a mate of mine played the Silent Disco at Glasto last year, and if this is run the same way, there are two DJ's playing at the same time, and the crowd can switch the headphones to listen to one or the other?

Si was telling me, it's hilarious to play a song with a singable vocal hook, and listen to a badly out of tune crowd sining along without a backing track ...

Ive done a few Silent Discos for the same guys that do Glastonbury. I hate them but its fun when your the guy playing Indie Classics and the other guy is playing Techno.

I had him on every tune apart from when he played Prodigy and Tiesto (unbelievably).
Funny listening to people singing all the wrong words to songs.
I guess when people hear Blur - Song 2 or RATM they all just wanna sing-along.

Not many words in Techno records.

My DJing partner opened a PR stunt silent disco at Waterloo station in London:

He's the dark haired chap just poking into the right hand of the picture. Reckons it was really surreal. Quite a few people having it whilst morning rush hour commuters looking confused.

Oh and the bass isn't the point. It is a bit of a novelty really, and then point is to find it funny that you are all in the same place, dancing to different music at the same time. It helps if you are off your tits at a festival I guess.

Yeah its odd. Especially as the organisers ban Monitor speakers.
I had mine on ever so slightly for certain mixes.

The most confusing thing is monitoring in your own headphones whilst trying listen to the A/B headphones to see what the other DJ is playing. Wearing 2 pairs of headphones is not easy.

    Slight OT.

Never seen such a thing like "silent disco", is this a UK thing?
Also, do you get any extra bass or is it really just the headset?

Just the headset dude. You get silent discos at all the festivals and there is a monthly night in London.
