working with midi pages..help!

I am trying a simple experiment to understand this feature of midi pages, but nothing happens. I have my midi controller button 1 to select midi page 1 and another button to turn on midi page 2. On midi page 1, I have my midi controller fader set to Volume / DECK A and on midi page 2 the same , but selected to deck C. I holding down on Button 1 (MIDI PAGE 1 ON) and turn the fader and nothing happens. I then hold down button 2 (MIDI PAGE 2) and turn the same fader and nothing..What am I doing wrong? Is this how this is supposed to work? See the snaps of my midi pages. Does this only work with "hold" and not to toggle?

The command on page 2 is transmitting on Channel 2, whereas it's on Channel 1 on page 1. Make it channel 1.
