Default [Audio Interface] NI Audio 8 vs M-Audio ProFire 610

    Hey guys,

I'm going to buy my VCI - 100 in about a week and I was wondering which of the Audio Interfaces is better for the usage in clubs.

I have no idea of Interfaces so I was hoping to find some help here. Thanks!

Sorry for my bad english. I'm from Germany

I use the Audio8 all the time and it works great. :-)

I'm about to order an audio card myself (holding out for potential Black Friday discounts), and it looks like I'll be getting an Audio 8 based on the number of recommendations from this community.

Yeah I was just wondering because, for example, the ProFire has 24bit/192khz and the Audio 8 "only" 24bit/96khz. Is there a big difference in sound?

Are there any other Firewire Interfaces that you'd recommend?

    My budget ist around 350€ ( 445$ )

Keep in mind that the Audio8 is a USB2.0 interface.

All I can say is that I can EQ my rig to sound better than the CD decks at the club I spin at. But, then again, I EQ those too, so I might be subconsciously trying to make myself sound better :-)

So okay, due to the fact that the Audio 8 is a USB 2.0 based Interface does the ProFire have a better latency?

We had this discussion a while ago on the General Discussion board, but the consensus was that if you're just pushing sound of of your laptop (as you would when you are mixing internally), then a USB sound card will provide virtually the same performance as a FireWire one.

    Roborob:

If you don't mind.. I would also STRONGLY recommend the Motu Ultralite. I personally believe that it sounds better than the Audio8, but if you plan on using scratch.. then you need the Audio8.
