Default DJ-Contest set - Intro: "Fatboy Slim - Right here, Right now" and then?

I'm putting together a set for a local DJ-Contest this Saturday.

There was a nice loveparade-loveset (2008) by Digitalism where they started with the slow part of "Right here, right now" and then went within 1 minute into their track "Idealistic".

I would love to do it similar, but without Idealistic as the 2nd track.

Now I've been looking in my collection for the last 2 hours for a good track but can't find any. Baggy Bottom Boys by JOTS would be cool, but that track is for the climax.

    Any ideas?

Wrong forum I think. This should probably be in Mixes.

hmm...dunno if it fits in mixes cause I needed advice for a gig.

I think I'll stick to Idealistic till the break because it is very smooth and the styles fit.
Crookers and the stuff mentioned above is cool and will definately find it's way into the set, but the melodic part of "right here, right now" is pretty calm and smooth, so dirty beats wouldn't fit.

I mixed the 2 songs into each other to show you what I mean:

    Hedgehog - Idealistic right now.mp3

puked in mouth a lil from that one lol. Honestly practice DJing in general . Once you get in front of a crowd there's a good chance your preplanned set will go out the window and your best attribute will be your mixing skills and not a preplanned set

Who said I use a pre planned set. And who doesn't have even a small 'preplanned' idea of what tracks they are going to drop?

I love programmed sets! huge builds and breaks like in DJ Irene, Badboy Bill, and R. H. Vision sets.

it is equally important to be adaptable because any crowd may not get it like the programmer did in prep.

This is the right forum for this discussion.

What kinda style do you want to mix ? the intro of that song can be mixed with a hell of alot different styles.
