Traktor Kontrol S4 : the dream controller ? answer of other competitors ?

wait let me get this right about the S4, can i load a complete different track aka 4 decks no samples?

This will be a big improvement over the VCI-100, it will become the new controller standard.

they're totally different animals. it's like saying a kawasaki ninja is an improvement over a focus rs.

yes people (including myself) have mapped the vci to run 4 decks, but some of these work flows are based more along a sampling line. which will be greatly improved with the addition of the sampler decks (when that update comes along). can't speak for every vci owner, but my mapping won't have to change too much to use the new features, as it's along the line of how i work now.

yes the software and hardware matching up is a nice, big bonus. yes the integration removes a lot bugs. and yes it is a fantastic controller. but can people stop comparing it to the vci? imo they're nothing alike.

and anyway, i'd be more interested in a software that i can change the layout of completely to suit me, while they [s4] match up to each other, it won't match to how a lot of people want to run.

sorry if this sounds like a flame session or like i'm trolling, but the constant comparison between the s4 and vci is bugging me.

to me it all boils down to how each and every individual approach and workflow is and also the comfort level of using a particular controller with the integration of the software. try it out if yyou like it then get it if you then there always other options, thats what's nice bout the advancement of technology now...but seriously i really tink the s4 is a good integration between software and hardware everything you need to do in traktor is there and its fun. thats the main thing ....fun
