Default any VJs here? favorite video source?

i've been messing around with Modul8 and have started including some really basic stuff in my sets (only at home so far but eventually would like to play out using it).

to the vjs here: where do find your vids?

    Some nice stuff there.

Also if you get the basics it's pretty fun to create a few of your own loops, animate your pictures and take a camera phone everywhere to take some wierd shots :P

Youtube can also be an alright source for memorable movie quotes and the like and you can always take your favourite bits out of your own movie collection.

How do you work Modul8? I use it with ableton but my midi set up is slightly awkward.

well right now i have ableton and traktor running but we're a dj duo so one of use has been using a separate mac for vj'ing.

how to you vj with ableton, i honestly never even thought about this! modul8 is a dedicated vj program. i have some basic parameters mapped onto an ipod touch (getting a launchpad in the mail tomorrow)

yeah traktor cant mix vids, that one of the advantages vjd has over it (as well as reading the DAMN TRAK KEY!)

I use ableton for all the audio then with my launchpad i have some of the controls mapped both to clips in ableton and a clip that i've made in modul8. It works quite nicely with vocal loops and some text but it's hard to automate effects in both. Say beatrepeat in ableton and shortening the loop length in modul8. All in all it's a work in progress :P

I have a mate who does my VJing when I play.

He uses Resolume3....and its the SHIT!

Its really cool to be able to pick out what i like and give him logos and pics to use.
He then plays me a set of what i like....while I am playing.
