    I think it's that they're just not synced perfectly, but I can't quite tell. Here are the two files...

    Well,
    Unfortunately I'm not going to be much help. I pulled them into Protools and the tracks actually move in and out of sync with each other. This usually means that at some point in the transfer process the pieces of audio were not locked to a common clock or sample rate. I'm curious if I'd get the same result from "ripping" .wav files directly from a CD as source. Regardless, you'll have to find a different process than "flipping phase" to extract the vocals. I'll play around with a few plugin's later but I honestly don't see myself getting to it until after I return from Burningman.
