Default mixer that can perform like controller and analogue mixing?

    Hi all!
i'm currently looking to build a system that requires u guys out there to give some advices! thx in advance!

i'm looking for a mixer that can do the following:
    1. as a midi controller to control traktor pro/traktor scratch pro (preferably 4 channels mixer with knobs)
    2. can feed it with 2 turntables that use time coded vinyl
    3. act as a stand alone mixer with 2 turntables or CD players if traktor fails or my computer exploded or something ... hahahahaha

is there anything out there that can actually do this?

i like the xone 4d but it seems it's entire digital and must work with a DJ software.

    help me guys....

    thx again!

Huh? Since when did the XONE:4D become incapable of handling analogue inputs? It has a built-in soundcard but that doesn't mean it can't do what other analogue mixers can.

I wouldn't mind one in a jiffy. Only problem is that it isn't exactly cheap. AND portable.

? I have a Xone 4D and it happily takes my 1210's along with my digital set up, I only use Traktor Pro so don't have DVS but if i want to mix straight up vinyl i can without any problems.

The new S4 will do that when it comes out.

was my first thought, too. but I am not too sure, if it can handle two line/phono inputs without software running?
i guess it only had one line through.

    From the NI site.

Two analog stereo inputs are provided with both phono and microphone preamps, allowing the connection of turntables, CD players or external audio gear. The additional auxiliary session input allows you to hook the S4 up to other analog gear.

I think you get basic functions, but don't have things like filters and loops and stuff like that which is dependent on the software. Maybe Karlos can clarify.

    dear progen and ciar2001,
u mean 4D can be used as a stand alone analogue mixer without using Traktor (or similar)? in other words, 4D can also be mapped to control traktor, and if shit happens, i can forgo traktor all together and just concentrate on mixing from 2 turn tables?

wow, i didn't know that.....4D it is then!

    thx

    any other input, guys?

I don't think the S4 includes an analog mixer, like the xone4D. The inputs mentioned are sound card phono/line inputs for use with the traktor DVS, so that most probably means that in order to play a normal record, you have to have a laptop with traktor open and the 'through' option on the virtual decks. That is, if the sound card behaves like the audio 8, which it should.
