Does anyone know of a reliable site that I can upload my mixes to and make them available to others via a podcast rss and subscription that will download them through iTunes?

Traktor Scratch Pro v1.2.4 Macbook Pro 2.4ghz 4gb ram - Audio 8, Torq Xponent, DJM-800
podomatic.com
They have different levels, the cheapest being free.
www.libsyn.com
Not free, but podomatic will put ads on your page if you get a free account, and the playback is re-rendered at a lower Kbps.
Libsyn starts at $5/month and are pretty reliable.
is the difference between mixcloud.com and something like podomatic the ability to subscribe via itunes or some sort? (is that the core difference between a podcast and just a normal streaming audio?)
I post my mixes on my blog and host at mixcloud (until I can get comp'd a SC account heh)
A podcast is just time-shifted media you can subscribe to. Think of it as a program your computer can Tivo. A podcast is a blog. Subscriber computers regularly ping the host to see if anything new has gone up. When there's new content, it's downloaded. Users can always download directly or play tracks online as long as you give them download links and some kind of media player.
yeah - I wasn't sure if the term had been changed over the years. I see the term used by many radio stations and blogs in their "podcasts" which appear weekly and are not subscribable (other then rss).
- Thread hijack over -
The subscribable RSS feed is what makes it a podcast.
