Default Where to buy a used Macbook...

Since reading this article: http://www.djtechtools.com/2010/08/0...80%93-laptops/, I've been looking into purchasing a used Macbook (to run Traktor Pro) which this article indicates you can find from $400-$500 U.S. I have mainly been checking ebay but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a reliable site/place to continue my search. Thoughts?

p.s. I ran a couple of searches and didn't come up with a thread directly on point-apologies if I simply missed it. Thanks, all.

One of the first posts I ever made on the forums covered this extensively:

Its the lengthier one, but if youre going to buy used, make sure you cover your ass, buying a cheap used MacBook can be dangerous territory. I also talk a little about how to score the best deals as they are posted on craigslist, so you can nab the best price.

    Hope that helps.

I would strongly suggest buying a certified refurb from Apple. Cheap, and full warrantee!!!

I dug around on the net and found "Federal Employee Purchase Program" which give you a $50 dollar discount on Macbooks.

I paid $1024 for my Macbook. And also got an Apple Protection Program on ebay for half the price of what it's on the APple site.

And since your buying on the web, they don't ask for any identification that you would for any Federal Agency.

^^ Seems a bit shady to use a discount you don't actually qualify for, but if you're a student then you do get $100 bucks off.

Just because they don't require proof at time of purchase doesn't mean that they won't if it needs serviced. If you can't supply it then they could possibly say that you came about the computer in by defrauding them and choose not to honor your apple care or standard warranty.

I bought both my Macs and two iPhones refurb from Apple. Saves $300-$400 usually and have never had a problem.
