Default Self Promo: Mixtapes/CDs or Business Cards?

Just a question for some of our seasoned pros...

do you still hand out your mixtapes on CDs for self promo, or do you just stick to a business card with links to your myspace/soundcloud/facebook ???

I'd like to rip up a bunch of CDs of my upcoming mixtape for self promo, but not sure if it's a waste of money or what... i mean obviously it's an outdated format, but on the other hand it's big and physical and more of reminder than a business card...

    thoughts???

ahh it's one of those annoying sites where you have to fill out your details and wait for a quote...

have you dealt with them? how much say per 512mb or 1gb drive cost?
does it compete with prices for CDs?

    cheers

you can use Google Goggles to scan a business card now.

include a fancy barcode on the business card and it can take you right to your soundcloud account.

 thats effing genius! I can just image the cost though and the fact I have to fill a form out tells me its not cheap.

to elaborate on the promo cd thing....

any ideas on including other attention grabbers with the disc... something like stickers or whatever? you know a little bonus to say "hey remember me? well you will now bitch."

I requested a quote from them a 128 mb stick would be enough to get an hour mix at 192k probably.

Just talked to them, your looking at $8.96 each for the 128 mb wafer card if you order 25. If you order 50 it drops down to $6.00 each. The regular USB sticks are just a few cents less each.
