    I wonder that too!

Some easy stand-alone sample pad/drum pad/machine would be nice!

Maybe the Native Instruments Battery exists as a standalone application?

I use mine with farmpad and some very crazy mappings I made to control hotcues , fx and other interesting functions. Eg I have a microsampler button that uses loops/fx to make a dubstep wobble. Also doing midifighter style juggling is very very fun.

I think dups pretty summed all up
With the pad kontrol you can go crazy like the midi fighter mapping.
You need to experience some super knobs/buttons combos and store the nice combinations on the buttons
